The magnificent building, built for Thakur Samundar Karan ji, of Thikana Sheora and Natwara direct descendants of Veer Durga Das Karnot, in 1742 A.D. His family was called from Jodhpur and bestowed the Jagir in the Tonk district by late Maharaja Swai Jai Singh ji of Jaipur. He was given the command of Jaipur State Force to administer the security of the state against the Guerilla attacks of the Marathas. His descendants performed the royal duties and were also members on the royal council. The family still uses a part of the building as its home.
